Summer 2026
The Legacy Village Exposure Camp is an intensive, community-rooted summer experience designed to invest in Black and Brown youth through exposure, healing, leadership development, financial literacy, cultural education, and real-world skill building. Hosted every Saturday throughout June and July 2026, the program creates intentional spaces for youth to expand their worldview, strengthen their confidence, develop practical life skills, and build meaningful connections with mentors, professionals, and community leaders.
Grounded in the belief that exposure changes possibilities, the camp combines hands-on learning, cultural exploration, emotional wellness, civic awareness, and professional development to help participants envision futures beyond the limitations often placed on underserved communities. Through workshops, reflection activities, field experiences, and mentorship, youth will be challenged to think critically, communicate effectively, and grow personally and professionally.
The program is intentionally small and relationship-centered, with only 10 participant slots available to ensure each student receives individualized attention, mentorship, and support throughout the summer. In recognition of their commitment and participation, students who successfully attend all eight program sessions will receive a $300 completion stipend at the conclusion of the program.
Application & Selection Process
Interested students must apply by submitting a short video application of (approximately 3 minutes) introducing themselves, sharing their interests, goals, and why they would like to participate in the Legacy Village Exposure Camp. Because of the limited number of available slots, applications will be carefully reviewed to ensure a strong and committed cohort of participants.

Program Information
- Program Dates: Saturdays starting June 6 to July 31, 2026 (excluding Fourth of July Weekend)

Weekly Program Themes
Week 1: Identity, Storytelling, & Rapport Building
Students will focus on community building, self-expression, personal identity, and relationship development through guided discussions and creative reflection.
Week 2: Emotional Intelligence & Self-Regulation
Participants will explore emotional awareness, healthy communication, stress management, conflict navigation, and strategies for emotional regulation and healing.
Week 3: Historical Reflection & Cultural Understanding
This session will center on Black history, historical reflection, cultural identity, and discussions connecting past systems and experiences to present-day realities and community resilience.
Week 4: Financial Literacy, Poverty, & Entrepreneurship
Youth will engage in conversations and activities focused on economic barriers, financial literacy, banking basics, entrepreneurship, and wealth-building opportunities.
Week 5: Etiquette, Professionalism, & Communication
Students will develop skills related to professionalism, workplace and personal etiquette, leadership presence, networking, communication, teamwork, and problem solving.
Week 6: Postsecondary Pathways & Arts Exposure
Participants will explore multiple pathways to success, including college, trade careers, unions, entrepreneurship, and creative industries, while also gaining exposure to arts and cultural experiences.
Week 7: Atlanta Exposure Experience
Students will participate in a full-day exposure trip centered on higher education, Black excellence, leadership, culture, and expanded career opportunities.
Week 8: Graduation, Student Showcase, & Community Celebration
The program will conclude with a graduation celebration and student showcase highlighting participants’ growth, creativity, leadership, and experiences throughout the summer.
Program Goals
The Legacy Village Exposure Camp aims to:
- Increase youth exposure to educational, professional, and cultural opportunities
- Strengthen emotional intelligence and conflict-resolution skills
- Build confidence, communication abilities, and leadership capacity
- Promote financial literacy and economic empowerment
- Encourage critical thinking around history, systems, and identity
- Foster healthy mentorship and community connections
- Expand participants’ understanding of possible career and life pathways
Commitment Expectations
Because of the limited number of participant slots, students selected for the program are expected to attend all sessions, actively participate, and engage respectfully with peers, mentors, facilitators, and community partners throughout the duration of the camp. Consistent attendance and participation are required to remain eligible for the program completion stipend.
